The layer engine tests both straight orientations plus simple two-block mixed patterns, so an awkward carton footprint can use a pallet more efficiently.
Stack strength, load stability, product orientation, overhang rules and warehouse handling still need operational approval.
Compare pallet dimensioners, DWS data capture, photo evidence and integration requirements before specifying a system.
How many cartons fit on a pallet?
The useful answer depends on the carton footprint, pallet footprint, permitted loaded height and gross-weight limit. ShipMeasure first finds a top-view layer plan, then calculates how many complete layers fit vertically and whether weight reduces that number.
Ti-Hi example
If a layer fits 8 cartons and 6 complete layers are permitted, the pallet is described as Ti 8 × Hi 6 and holds 48 cartons before another constraint reduces the plan.
Pallet dimension, volume and weight calculator in one
The result includes the pallet footprint, loaded height, gross weight and palletized shipment CBM. That means the same page covers searches commonly described as a pallet dimension calculator, pallet volume calculator or pallet weight calculator without duplicating the tool across several thin pages.
Why mixed orientation can matter
A regular grid can leave a strip of unused pallet deck. The pallet planner tests simple two-block patterns that place some cartons rotated by 90 degrees when that increases the number of whole cartons on the layer.
Using the calculation in Excel
For a simple single-orientation layer, an Excel-style formula is =FLOOR(PalletLength/CartonLength,1)*FLOOR(PalletWidth/CartonWidth,1). Real pallet planning is harder because a rotated or split layout can beat that formula, which is why the visual calculator tests alternatives.
